About Nelly Sanchez

Nelly Sanchez holds a cross-categorical K-12 teaching certificate and graduated from the University of Arizona in May 2014. She taught high school students with intellectual disabilities for seven years. In 2020, she joined DES as an employment specialist with DDD, gaining insights into post-high school employment opportunities. On April 1, 2022, she became a Transition Specialist with Vocational Rehabilitation, providing technical assistance to high schools in the Transition School to Work (TSW) program. Since April 15, 2024, she has been a Secondary Transition Specialist with ADE. Nelly is enthusiastic about learning more about student transition planning and excited to join the ADE Secondary Transition team.
