Student Programming

At IHD and AzTAP, we believe that our conference provides a great opportunity for student engagement and participation in a well-established statewide, Arizona-based professional conference. As a state university affiliated program, we have created these low-cost, no-out-of-state-travel alternatives for professional students to develop new skills, gain knowledge, and network.

We are pleased to be offering the following special programs specifically for students (especially those studying occupational or speech therapy):

Poster Presentations

The conference will host poster presentations on Monday afternoon, June 3, 1:30-5:00 pm. This will be a great opportunity for your students to showcase and present their research and projects to professionals in Arizona.

We invite your students to submit their poster presentations. The deadline for submission is May 22, 2024.

Students participating in the poster session are invited to join us for our networking reception, featuring a performance by comedian and disability activist Nina G afterwards. There is no charge for the networking reception.

Exhibit Hall

Free Exhibit Hall Pass: Our exhibit hall (featuring 40+ Assistive Technology companies, government agencies, and disability organizations) is open to the community, free of charge, on Monday, June 3, from 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm. This is a great opportunity to learn about disability resources in Arizona, network with others in the community, and explore the latest in assistive technology hands-on. Poster presentations are also open to everyone.

To receive your complimentary pass, we encourage anyone who wishes to participate to register for the Exhibit Hall on-line.

Guided Exhibit Hall: As we did in 2023, we will offer a “guided exhibit hall” option – a special exhibit hall experience designed specifically for professional students. The goal is to help students organize their exhibit hall experience, guide them in how to “see what they are looking at,” and to ask the right questions for their professional lens.

The guided exhibit hall experience is an add-on to our FREE EXHIBIT HALL PASS and will also take place Monday, June 3, 1:30-5:00 pm. When registering for the free passes, please make sure to select the “university/college student” participant category. You will see the guided exhibit hall experience as an option. Please select that option if you are interested in this program.

As before, students who are at the conference venue at 5:00 pm are invited to join us for our networking reception, featuring a performance by comedian and disability activist Nina G immediately afterward. There is no charge for the networking reception.

Special Student Registration Rates

Some students may want to participate in the conference as paid attendees. This year’s 2-day conference offers 60+ educational sessions focused on the hottest topics in disability and assistive technology, along with opportunities to network with 300-500 professionals in the disability-related fields, 45+ exhibitors, door prize drawings, networking reception, and much more.

For our 2024 conference, we are pleased to offer professional students a 50% discount on our registration rates. This rate is available only to students currently enrolled in a college or university.

Students can choose any of the registration options below to receive their 50% discounts.
