At IHD and AzTAP, we believe that our conference provides a great opportunity for student engagement and participation in a well-established statewide, Arizona-based professional conference. As a state university affiliated program, we have created these low-cost, no-out-of-state-travel alternatives for professional students to develop new skills, gain knowledge, and network.

Poster Presentations

The conference will host poster presentations on Tuesday afternoon, June 23, 1:30-5:00 pm. This will be a great opportunity for students to showcase and present their research and projects to professionals in Arizona.
Students participating in the poster session are invited to join us for our networking reception. This year’s reception will once again be hosted by IHD’s Minor in Disability Studies program and will include a special appearance from our closing speaker, disability advocate and comedienne Pamela Rae Schuller. There is no charge for the networking reception.
Exhibit Hall
Free Exhibit Hall Pass: Our exhibit hall (featuring 40+ Assistive Technology companies, government agencies, and disability organizations) is open to the community, free of charge, on Tuesday, June 23, from 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm. This is a great opportunity to learn about disability resources in Arizona, network with others in the community, and explore the latest in assistive technology hands-on. Poster presentations are also open to everyone.

Partnerships with Disability-Related Professional Programs
During the open exhibit hall period, we welcome partnerships with disability-related professional post-secondary programs in Arizona (such as occupational therapy and speech-language pathology educational programs) to have their students coming through the exhibit hall as a group for unique “guided experiences” developed by their professors and educators. Please contact us at IHDConference@nau.edu to discuss this possibility.
Special Student Registration Rates
Some students may want to participate in the conference as paid attendees. This year’s 2-day conference offers 60+ educational sessions focused on the hottest topics in disability and assistive technology, along with opportunities to network with 300-500 professionals in the disability-related fields, over 40 exhibitors, door prize drawings, networking reception, and much more.
For our 2026 conference, we are pleased to offer professional students a 50% discount on our registration rates. This rate is available only to students currently enrolled in a college or university.

During the registration process, students will be asked to provide their name, university email, the name of their school, their program of study and contact information for a faculty member of administrator. Register for the conference as a student attendee.
