About Brigitte Means

Brigitte Means has been a special education teacher with Gilbert Public Schools for 24 years. She graduated with her Bachelors in Special Education from ASU and her Masters in Early Childhood Education from NAU. She has taught in the high school level Functional SCILLS classroom as well as spent a number of years teaching in the district transition programs. Brigitte has a passion for transition programming, community based instruction and pre-vocational training, but has recently moved back into the more traditional functional academic FSCILLS classroom. This year she was excited to participate in the Comprehensive Literacy for All pilot with a desire to learn how to better support her students’ overall literacy skills.
