About Elizabeth Lightfoot

Elizabeth Lightfoot is Director and Distinguished Professor of Social Policy at the Arizona State University School of Social Work. Lightfoot’s research centers on disability policy and services, with a focus on the intersections of disability with child welfare, aging, and health disparities. She has conducted numerous studies investigating parental supports for parents with disabilities and the interactions of parents and children with disabilities in the child welfare system and is an investigator through the National Research Center for Parents with Disabilities. She has published over 125 research articles and book chapters, has supervised 25 doctoral students, and is a member of the National Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare.
