About Micaela Swan

Dr. Micaela Swan has 18 years of experience in K-12 public schools. She has been a classroom teacher, a building administrator, and a district administrator. More recently she is a full-time online instructor at Grand Canyon University in the College of Education. She teaches primarily Education Administration and Leadership courses and courses that lead to licensure in the area of Early Childhood Special Education. She recently completed her Ph.D. in Cognition and Instruction and her dissertation focused on trauma-informed instructional practices in the secondary special education classroom. Dr. Swan also provides professional development support to schools in the areas of classroom management and regulating student behaviors.
